With the summer break upon us, it’s the perfect time to wrap up tasks in our library. As we continue our weeding and inventory series, I’ll guide you through the steps we’re taking and invite you to share your own tips, tricks, and resources. In the initial phase, we began by removing damaged books and multiple copies that weren’t circulating. Now, it’s time to conduct an inventory using the Destiny Educator Platform, which connects seamlessly with all Follett products. Conducting an inventory helps review and evaluate your collection, identifying any gaps and ensuring your library remains a vibrant resource for students and teachers. Here’s a step-by-step guide to get you started with the inventory process:

1. Login to Destiny Library Manager:Classroom Libraries

2. Follow the Inventory Guide:

    • Use the comprehensive guide from Follett Software to conduct and complete your inventory efficiently.

3. Login to Destiny, click on Admin at the top, and go down to Inventory on the left hand side.

4. Evaluate and Update:

    • Once the inventory is complete, analyze the report to understand the current state of your collection and identify areas for improvement.

In the next post of this series, we’ll delve into the inventory report and discuss how to utilize this information to enhance your library.

To foster a collaborative environment, let’s use this Padlet to share our weeding and inventory strategies. Whether it’s advice, resources, or tools, your contributions can help us all improve our libraries.

I hope you find these posts and tips helpful. I look forward to hearing about your weeding processes and how they benefit your library collections.
