As the UK’s only fully independent, nationwide book award for graphic novels and manga, the Excelsior Award gives young people aged 9–18 the chance to decide the winners across four age-appropriate categories by rating each book as they read.

Now involving more than 200 schools across the UK and Ireland, the award plays an important role in encouraging reading among teenagers while also raising the profile of graphic novels and manga with school librarians and teachers. This special event gives you the chance to share the excitement with your students, either by joining live or using the recording later to host your own celebration in school.
